I hear a lot about San Jacinto and Duren, but I was just wondering what exactly distinguishes the two from all the other dorms.
I also have the option of living in the honors dorms, so is that a better option?

San Jac and Duren are the two newest dorms, and they have private baths.

I suggest searching around the forums.

That thread is incredibly thorough.

In short, San Jac and Duren have bigger rooms and private baths, and cost $2000 more. Whether it’s worth it is up to you individually.

Whether the honors quad is a good deal depends on your personality. I don’t find my room especially pleasing, but I have a cool roommate. However, I personally don’t spend too much time in the quad socializing, as I have other commitiments, whereas there are people who socialize mainly with other quad people. There are also people in the quad who don’t talk to anyone at all. It really depends on you as a person and not whether you’re living in the quad.
