Best dorms for first year students?

I have NO idea where I want to live, except I know I want south because I heard its more lively. I’m in honors, but I don’t necesarily want to do honors housing. I’ve heard that there are 4 freshmen dorms, and I’m thinking about doing those. Also, but Patterson and Bradley had newly renovated bathrooms that were waay nicer than the one I saw in Smith. And that’s all I know-any recommendations?

I’m shootin for a south campus dorm. Place me where the action is

I heard Bradley is one of the best. And apparently Siebert is getting renovated over the summer but currently it’s “not recommended.” lol hope that helps

Stradley is by far the best  Or the Park ‘Penthouse’

Siebert and Bradley are honors but Bradley is mostly non-freshman. My dd is in Siebert. It is quieter than non-honors like Stradley, Park, etc but you can study in your room if you need to, which is nice during the winter. She has friends in Morrison behind her and Mack, and the rooms are bigger than those on 11th. Dorms are dorms.

A tour guide told us you become fiercely loyal to the campus you live on Fresh year and refuse to believe another area of campus is better so I think you’ll be happy!

What about student athletes who want to be close to their sports? Does that make a difference? I, too, have no idea what to request.

For athletes, I think it would depend on what your sport is, but your coach might be able to help you contact current players and get their input on housing. Also you might be able to find out where you’ll practice which might affect your housing choice. In general, the dorms on West are closest to the RPAC and stadium. Morrill is academic housing so it is open over breaks and I seem to recal someone saying a lot of athletes live there.

I have emailed my coach to ask for a freshmen mentor. I think our gym is the Steelwood Athletic building or somewhere along Steelwood Rd? This is just west of the stadium according to the map. Anyway, I have no clue what to do about housing and I need someplace quiet where people are serious about doing well.

Carolila- Lincoln or Morrill on West is your best bet. Lincoln is honors housing so it should have a more studious atmosphere but it fills up quickly. Morrill has the advantage of being academic year housing. Both are toward Steelwood.

OK thanks RMGSmom. The coach has connected me now, and it seems like he is going to try and coordinate this among all the fencers. I am so pumped. I am searching for a bicycle now.
