I know browards a good dorm but besides that what are the top dorms?

The best dorms are in the eyes of the beholder.

Do a search on here. There are many threads about housing at FSU.

Here is one:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/florida-state-university/1234819-residence-halls.html?highlight=dorms

Specifically look at post #7 by Matt125. A lot of info in there.

Yeah, I hate to beat the dead horse some more, but read any of the topics on housing here. Read the FSU Housing website.

There’s enough information here to get you well on your way.

ask your fellow teachers if they went to fsu for more info, apparently they tell me salley is the best. here are my choices

wildwood

salley

deviney

dorman

this also helped

What about Broward and Gilchrist? When I originally researched the various dorms those ones seemed most aesthetically pleasing! However when looking at all of these posts I have seen nothing about them.

What is the difference between Broward/Gilchrist compared to Wilwood/Degraff?

you guys should note that you should pick a dorm to near where your classes/spots of interest (e.g. leach center, cinema, circus etc) are. some are on the east side, some on the west. wildwood is on the west and the rest you said are on the east

When did your teachers attend FSU? Salley is old, aesthetically unpleasant, and extremely cramped. The entire suite (two bedrooms and a common room) seemed smaller than a regular sized room in Wildwood (I don’t know if that’s because there’s 4 people in there, or what, but Salley’s rooms are TINY).

The only plus for Salley is that it’s literally next door to one of the dining facilities and is across the street from the Psychology department.

it’s also not too far from the rec center, sports facilities, in the math/science departments, also i don’t mind size - it’s not like i’ll be in there too long, just during the morning for like 30 minutes and at night to sleep

If those are pluses for you, then sure. It is however farther than everything you listed than other dorms.

If you think Salley will be the best pick for you, then put Salley #1. I’m just warning people that Salley really isn’t that great.

When I went to visit FSU I really loved the area right around the football stadium! Is that in the east or west side of campus? What are the highlights of both east and west?

That’s the west side.

The east side is renovated and looks better. The west side does not require a meal plan. If you’re in a Liberal Arts program or something like that, the East Side will likely be better. Sciences and Math, the west side would likely be better.

Awesome thank you!

Any idea where the business building is?

Also since I put business management as my intended major, does that mean I am in to the business school?

So the housing portal says that it will back up on December 16th. Any idea what time? Is it a 12am on the 16th deal? I’ll have to set my alarm! lol

The Business building is in the central area of campus, I believe.

The business buildings, Rovetta A&B, are located between the Union and Strozier library, adjacent to the Bellamy building.

Yeah, central-ish. It’s more west side than east side.
