i was wondering what is the SAFEST and best software to use for downloading music. is it kazaa, morpheus, winmx...??? i usually just make my friends do it but i have a faster connection now and wanted to know which one to use for burning music and movies on cd's and stuff.

please give me some suggestions and base it on
1 safety (i want the SAFEST, I dont want my computer to get f-ed up)
2 speed
3 how much music/movies are available and how new they are
4 and whether its free or not

imo kazaa and all the other p2ps are annoying because 1) you can never find exactly what you want 2) half the stuff out there is misnamed or has viruses 3) theyre slow even with a fast connection
for the least frustration, use itunes or sony (not free) or just buy the stuff

Actually, i2Hub is the best possible downloading software for college students. It's the same as dc++ except it only operates through college campuses nationwide, so you're guaranteed ridiculously fast speeds and high bandwith.

bah - i'm disappointed with I2hub - you used to be able to access them through DC++, but now you have to use their "proprietary" crap, which is just a very very slightly modified DC platform. But yes, I2hub is much better if you're on a college residential network that is part of I2

oh. so should i uninstall winmx and install limewire, or use both simultaneously (if even possible)? how exactly do i delete winmx and does doing that delete my already downloaded tracks?
