In the past I have driven from the Mid-Atlantic to New Haven for the load-in, load out. I’ve used a couple of local guys with a truck and then rented a unit in a nearby storage facility. Wondering if anyone has experiences with “Collegeboxes.com” “All College Storage” “Dorm Room Movers” or others since I’d like to fly up this year and take it easy on my back.
In years past, I’d get my own boxes, supplies, help pack and shlep - but think it’s time to do it differently.
Whatever specifics you can supply are appreciated.
My kids usually stored some stuff with the residential college–I believe they were allowed 4 or maybe 5 good-size boxes. That was pretty easy. For more or larger stuff, I don’t know.
Last year we threw everything in the minivan and brought it home to be sorted through. Probably more of the same this year unless she gets organized enough to keep some boxes in the college. The futon, lamp and chair were moved into the suite for next year. I assume she will do that again.
If you are doing this by car, good advice is to bring some boxes or sturdy bags with you. Chances are you will be doing some packing yourself, at least in my experience
