Best fridge?

hi, im starting my dorm shopping this week, and im hoping to get some suggestions for the fridge im gonna get. i know the 4 cu ft restriction isnt really enforced all the time, so im looking for a fridge larger than 4 cu ft. also, i need recommendations for brands, since this is the first time shopping for appliances. im looking for something durable, since im using it for the next four years, and sleek, hopefully, so it looks good too. my budget is around 100 to 200 dollars, but that's flexible.

Thanks!

I could be wrong but isnt it 2.5 cu ft? thats what is saw in the infor for your arrival thingy

Quoting the “information for your arrival” pamphlet

“Refrigerators are not provided in first-year residence halls. You may keep one in your room, however, as long as its volume does not exceed 2.5 cubic feet. If you do not wish to bring your own refrigerator, you may purchase one at the Columbia Bookstore or rent one.”

oh ok, yeah i realized i got that mixed up with another school’s restrictions… but it’s so weird because on a checklist from the columbia bookstore, it says i can choose between a 1.8 cu ft or 3.7 cu ft energy star model, so i guess they know that nobody cares? idk. anyway, maybe some current columbia students can recommend some brands/models?

Maybe the students that live in apartment style housing or so on are allowed to have bigger fridges…hence the 3.7 cu ft

They.
Dont.
Care.

As for the best fridge, buy one from a current student for 50-100 bucks (depending on size). Find a senior that no longer needs a fridge because they live in a dorm that has one.
