Does anyone know why Yale is ranked so low in its philosophy department?

its a small boutique department. for what they have they are excellent, but they don't have a diverse offering of professors.

Curious as to why you knock out 2 departments where Harvard does well and Y + P do relatively poorly. Why don't you likewise disregard French, where Harvard ranked a "lowly" #17?

And why do you omit Political Science, Psychology, Sociology and Economics?

Care to run the numbers for Stanford, Byerly?

Alternative source for Philosophy Graduate Rankings: philosophicalgourmet.com

It ranks Yale at 25, Harvard at 6, and Princeton at 3.

Still low, but not as low?
