Best looking prep schools

..... Uh... I'm a model, and I DON'T SPEND HOURS ON MY LOOKS. The implication that people need makeup/a hair straightener to be pretty is not true. If someone needs to hide behind makeup, then maybe it's their self confidence that needs work. I know it's fun to primp (way better than finger painting!!!), but there is a fine line between caring about your appearance and being rude. I understand what neatoburrito is saying though. There's a negative side to everything.

I simply think this thread should be deleted. It features vast generalizations and opinions, some of which have gotten to the point of offensive. Every one has their own ideas and that's okay, but I don't think this is an appropriate way to share them.

hmm people who look alike usually stick together. walk into any school and you'll see the pretty girls altogether and hot guys altogether.

Do you stick with the pretty people? is that why you kind of like cliques a little.

Exactly people are drawn to pretty people

Lol ya looks are over-rated...Im not a "geek" by any stretch of the word. But at my school no one wants the fake "pretty" girls. So they all tend to act like their better and stick together, but really no one wants them (girls). There are no really guy cliques and my school, well we have our little sports group. But thats just at lunch to talk about sports, I have all kind of cool friends that don't play anything.

Cliques are overrated. Ok my last post here...maybe.

People like to be around people who are like them

im not against cliques.............always been in one

You guys talk like your some of the prettiest girls...I mean, not to make anything personal but I've seen one of you and your not all that great looking. No offense. Just saying...."pretty" people don't need to come on a messaging board talking about how pretty they are and how they just HAVE to do their make-up in the morning for an hour.

This is about prep schools, lets talk about prep schools lol

lol mpicz I agree, I've seen one of you and clearly the hours spent on looks are hours completely wasted. Maybe you should use them for something useful like... reading a book?

And pinkheart - God forbid a FORUM should contain opinions:

Forum |ˈf

I'm not saying my life revolves around doing my hair and my hair and
makeup and everything because it doesn't and spending time on the way I look doesn't make me fake or shallow or anything and I do so many other things so I am friends witha lot of different people and I don't judge them on that its just the way I personally want to live my life I'm just closer friends with the people who are more like me

But what you are saying is that you are discriminatory on the basis of looks.

Guess what. Some people are just unable to conform to today's definition of "beautiful." It's just not possible for some - a mole, scar, birth mark in the wrong place and boom, that person is unable to be what you see as "pretty." It doesn't matter that she was a model before her head-on highway collision that caused her need for facial reconstructive surgery - she's not pretty anymore so you won't hang out with her and you'll avoid her store. Or, if you're her employer, maybe you'll fire her because others like you are repelled by her presence and are therefore not shopping at your store.

I'll tell you what, theamazingjasmyn, I'm glad not everyone in the world thinks like you. I'm also glad that most other people know how to use periods in their posts!

I'm not saying that you have to conform but the way you look is important that is your first impression of them and research show that it takes30 positive impressions of you to make up for a negative first impression. Anyways people automatically judge people on their looks if you drive into a bad patrt of town and you see someone who is wearing old ripped clothes and he looks like he hasn't showered in a few weeks you don't assume he's rich and living in a 36 million dollar house

Off topic but may I ask how the topic went from best looking prep schools to superficiality?

I'm not using periods because I'm on my phone and typing periods is kind of a pain is this better?:................................................................................................................................................................ I'm making up for all the ones I missed

Discrimination on basis of looks? If you can tell one person from another, you are discriminating based on looks...lol but I do know what you mean, TomtheCat. You don't happen to be Simon Cowell in disguise do you?? You are so funny, teehee. :P

Oh, keep up, steph107, go back and read some of Senay and theamazingjasmyn's posts

lol, thingslost, you're right, but I mean things like job discrimination and actually physically evading "ugly" people. And thanks, sometimes I mean to be, sometimes I don't, but I can tell you that I don't model myself on Simon Cowell =P

senay and jasmyn, you are going to be in for a surprise if you relocate to an elite, northeastern school. in general, putting too much effort into your appearance is looked down upon....trust me, no one would leave class to do their makeup, and i highly doubt that most girls even carry makeup around with them to begin with. after the brief trend of hair straightening from, like, 2002-2004, the majority of girls had natural hair, too - the horror, the horror!

i'm actually struggling to convey to you guys the attitude toward looks in prep schools/elite northeastern colleges. i guess you sort of have to experience it for yourself. as one who rarely wears makeup or straightens her hair (my hair is basically straight anyway), i've never felt that people were unaccepting of me at exeter or harvard due to my lack of time spent grooming. it's great.

My hair is like unwearable if its not straight I look really bad if I don't straighten it its like really curly and if I didn't straighten it I would have to just wear it in a ponytail everyday

You people worry way to much about your appearances.
Get over it.
If you look good yay for you.
And if you look bad suck it up.
