Best major for business analyst/consulting career path

My preferred career path is the business analyst/consulting route at pretty good firms. I am attending Troy University in Alabama soon so I won't be in one of those crazy top schools or anything. Just want to know the best major to do for my desired career path and how to build up to those top firms since I won't be starting out immediately in one.

Anyway I can get internships at the top firms? I'm currently a Freshman so that's my situation as of right now. So I have time to do internships and stuff but I just don't even know where to start.

I am also really wanting to get my MBA at Kellogg. Will that help my job prospects? Since I'm not going to a big school for my undergrad, should I go straight to MBA or get work experience first? And again, not a big school so what are some good firms that could one day get me working at a bigger firm? Lots of questions and if you think I missed any important questions then definitely just answer everything! Thanks!
