I was thinking economics or finance but what would be some good majors that would give me knowledge on business’.
It doesn’t matter. If you want a business degree, go with finance, if you want a liberal arts degree go with economics.
My undergraduate degree was actually in Economics. Law school does not care about undergraduate degree. Statistically, the “best” majors are political science, English, and philosophy, and the worst are prelaw and criminal justice, but beyond that you can be whatever you want. One of the most successful attorneys I know had his undergraduate degree in engineering and now works in patent law areas for a large corporation.
That might be a worthwhile focus – don’t get a degree aiming at law school but get a degree aiming what kind of corporation you want to work for. if you want to work for a technology firm, consider engineering. an IT company? MIS/CIS or CS! business classes are not necessary and I would not take them unless you personally like business curricula.
