heard something about a "My Pizza" with the premiere, and I love pizza

4 swipes of premiere to get a pizza and 6pack of Coke. This would cost ~$13 at Lamonicas, where you are being charged a value of ~$20-25 from your meal plan.

Any deal is a rip off unless you eat in one of the dine in restaurants... especially that one swipe = two drinks. grrr... they should give you at least 4!

haha, never underestimate the power of needy college students. If those drinks were free, I bet everyone can carry off at least 10 each if they wanted.

Yeah, I think I want to change my 19 Premiere to 14 Blue. It's almost $500 difference which is quite a lot when I thought about it. Even if I have my 14 Blue and I am going back up to Nor Cal for the weekend, can I use my 4 swipes left over to get snacks and drinks for the drive up? :)

if you're going with 14 why not go with premiere? the convenience is worth it, IMO.
but if you go with blue, as r30028 said, be mindful of when you use your swipes. and be aware of when your weekly swipes expire, too ;)

Just eat noodles and cereal everyday and be a squatter in the De Neve lounges. Take showers at the Wooden. Collect free meal coupons and eat at the bombshelter... etc.

Sorry to necro-bump this thread, but I have a question:

Someone earlier in this thread said that premium meals carry over week-by-week and that you lose what you have left over at the end of the quarter–meaning that if you have the 19 premium plan and you eat 14 meals one week, you can eat 24 meals the next week. You can also swipe multiple times per meal period, right?

The person who posted also said that the non-premium meal plans carry over day-by-day and that you lose what you have left over at the end of the week. If I’m understanding correctly, this means that if you eat 2 meals one day, you can swipe 4 times the next day. However, I saw this on the UCLA website:

“Students with Gold 19, Blue 14 or Cub 11 meal plans may enter residential dining facilities once per meal period.”

If you can only enter the residential dining period once per meal period, how can you get your 4 swipes for the second day?

@Kirby
What it says on the website is the correct way your Gold 19 or Blue 14 will function. If you don’t use your swipe during the meal period, you will lose it.

This is how the system was always intended to work; but, last year, nonpremier users could somehow use multiple swipes per period and their swipes would reset only at the end of the week.

19 Gold and 14 Blue plans rollover day to day and reset at the end of the week. You can only swipe once per meal period, but there are 5 meal periods in a day so non-Premier meal plans can use up to 5 swipes per day.

Thanks to those who responded to my question. I have another one! How long do the meal plans last? Let’s say I go for the 19G plan, but realize that 14B is really the best choice for me. I know there’s a deadline to change the meal plan within a quarter, but can I opt for a new meal plan at the beginning of a quarter–say, the winter quarter-- with no penalties?

Also, let’s say I want to pack a lunch for later, but can only make it to the first meal period of the day. If I have a regular plan, can I still do this even though technically I’m only allowed to swipe once per meal period?

Its better to start with the lower one and upgrade if you need more. I believe they charge you to downgrade plans, but upgrading is free (other than paying the price difference of course).

If you’re talking about the sack lunch thing, yes non-premier plan holders can take advantage of that.

Oh, how can they take advantage of it? Is there something one does to let it be known that the second swipe is for a sack lunch and not just extra breakfast?
