Best media/creative writing schools on east coast?

Can anyone recommend broad-spectrum media schools (journalism, photography, digital production..) preferably near or in large city in the East?? Am looking for best education that can be gotten at OOS prices. Do any offer liberal money based on portfolio rather than scores or need?

How about good schools in Uk or Europe for that field?

Thanks in advance.

Syracuse comes to mind for journalism and communications. SU really is top-tier in the field (as in, top 3 in the country).

Ithaca comes to mind for a liberal arts education, and media and journalism. If your stats are good, you may be a candidate for merit money?

for creative writing - any strong school will suit you well, middlebury comes to mind, however for media, you may want to avoid the smaller schools (NYU?) - though for writing, the attention at a small school could help you flourish.

Midd is a good suggestion for creative writing, but yeah, if she wants a strong media based education, schools like NYU and such are better.

Barnard and Kenyon for writing.

Bard for writing, for sure. Also, MIT for media studies if you're in to the technical aspects. If not, you probably want to stick with LACs and a few token unis (i.e. Syracuse, NYU)

Emerson-- in Boston, 100% media/communications/creative writing

gotta second the emerson suggestion- absolutely top notch with amazing connections in media
