Best minor for accounting majors

I was going to minor in economics but I just found out I can't minor in economics and major in accounting at my school and now i don't know what other subject to minor in. What other minor is a good choice for accounting majors?

Well, if you're planning on pursuing a career in accounting then instead of focusing on a minor, you should focus on graduate school. You'll need 30 credits of graduate school in most states before you can sit for your CPA exam.

I don't think many minors would be that useful for accounting majors. I agree with dcharlton about getting all of your accounting hours for the CPA exam.

Aside from that, some people double major in Accounting and MIS (Management Information Systems) if they wish to be IT Auditors. However, for other accountants this would be overkill.

i think at rutgers i need to have a minor in order to have enough credits to graduate

There are lots of good choices:
1. Finance
2. MIS
3. Deaf Studies so you can cater to hearing impared.
4. Language such as Spanish
5. Financial Planning
6. English, yes, English. Accountants are notoriously poor writers. Having strong writing skills will put you way ahead of the pack for job interviews.
This is just a few of the many minor that can aid you in an accounting career.

What about religion? and anyone know why you cant minor in economics if you major in accounting?

I would minor in a language, probably Spanish. It will make you more employable.
