D was far more philosophical than I and did not have a “dream school”, so luckily for me, she shrugged it off. (I think it also helped that it wasn’t her first choice.) I’m the one who secretly wishes that the rejecting school knew what they missed out on, but I draw the line at sending them regular updates on her achievements at and contributions to the school she attends. 
Although I’m sure it would cause amusement and eye-rolling among the adcoms!
