We have a pretty well developed idea of the pros and cons of each school. Rejection is a good time to reiterate the cons of that school. “Oh well, it is a good school for X, but was really expensive, the dorms were terrible, the weather is awful…” And to talk up the positives of the schools where they did get in.
If you haven’t identified ANY negatives about a school, are you really looking at it hard enough? I just don’t think there are any perfect schools.
We have always talked about believing there is more than one way to succeed and getting where you want to go in life is not dependent on any one school. If you are one of the many on CC who don’t believe that, i guess that conversation would not sound very genuine though.
