Best Place to buy UMCP apparel ?

So since I'm going to umd in the fall, I really want to start stocking up on Maryland gear/apparel. I went to the book store in stamp but I felt that most of it was expensive. I'm trying to find somewhere else that sells their apparel at a cheaper price. Online or stores in Maryland would work for me.

Don’t buy too many tee shirts, you will be given many for FREE :)

How do you get free Ts? plumazul?

I have heard the same…about free t-shirts being given out frequently at campus events. During my d’s accepted students day visit she hung with an old friend who is finishing up freshman year at UMD and he said not to buy any more T’s as they are generously given away at sporting events etc. I might spring for a sweatshirt for d to have to wear around this summer, though! She loves the “fear the turtle” slogan shown on so much apparel!

I really want a hoodie though …and good thing you guys told me because I already spent like $43 on 2 terp t-shirts !

I’ve gotten almost 15 free t-shirts this first year. 3 at Orientation, a large number from sporting events, and then a few just from random things. But, it should be noted that the ones given out at sporting events are all size Large.

The UMD Bookstore does sales sometimes. Sometimes it’s things like 25% off hoodies, or a particular brand, or buy one t-shirt get one 50% off. Stuff like that.

Do you get a discount on apparel and other items in the book store by using your umd ID card ?

No, but when you move in, if you live on campus there’s coupons for 10% off at the bookstore in the back of the planner on your desk. There’s 4, one for each of the first 4 months on campus.

DS’s favorite tees are from sporting events. The reason why the graphics are tied to UMD against them. UVA FB tee is probably his favorite because it is a play on the WAHOO. 2nd runner up is UNC or Duke (can’t remember) and that is a BBall tee.

If I recall correctly they gave him a tee at orientation and also a different one for move in day as a freshman.

You can find UMD apparel on line everywhere.

I have to say the quality is very good and worth the price for the apparel they sell. DS is a jr now and 3 yrs later and hundreds of washings the items are still in great shape, you would never guess it is 3 yrs old. Only issue we came to realize is the hoodies do shrink, so buy larger.

For mom’s buy the crocs. They are great, even has the terp on the side where the C usually is located. I take a lot of ribbing in VA for wearing them, we have a DD at VT, so now sometimes I wear one of each…house divided. UMD parents notice it and make comments, VT are silent…I think they think I just got the wrong shade of red (maroon) for VT and I am showing VT support only, little do they realize I know the colors and as I said it is the house that is divided. ACC is big in my house!

Crocs! LOL

Assuming your kid separates colors in laundry (a big assumption, I know!!!), they will easily have enough clothes to make a whole red pile!!!

So I ordered a hoodie off of the bookstore website yesterday and I was wondering if anybody has done this before ? I want it to get to the bookstore before next Friday , does anybody know how long it takes for stuff you order online to get shipped to the bookstore ?

I’ve ordered off the website but I had it sent to my house. It got there (to New York) remarkably fast, like 30 hours after I ordered it.

Agree with others that you will soon have more UMD tees than you know what to do with. And if you should pledge a frat or sorority, you can multiply the number exponentially. I can’t fit DS’ tees in his dresser drawers when he’s home in the summers.

Kohls.com has a great selection and you can use your 30% discounts you get in the mail (or google it on line to get a coupon code). You can get high quality hoodies for about $20, nice shorts for about $10, etc.

^Thanks I just wish they had more stuff for women though
