best place to live as freshman?

my roommate and i are in snyder in east but we can't decide if we should move to south, west, or pollock. Advice please?

Stay in east. Rooms suck but trust me, the experience is worth it.

stay in east. Trust me, at the end of the year most people I’ve talked to who didn’t live in east regretted it. Did it completely alter their freshman year experience? no. but it was definitely the preferred experience. Honestly, the one thing I love the most was that it’s freshman island with thousands of freshman stuck together, no one off campus, no one in apartments spread out, no one in frat houses yet. Everyones all together for the only time. Second semester I could literally walk into the commons with homework at any time and always find friends in the study rooms to study with. You would walk through between classes and always run into a friend. Everyone together and it’s so easy to all bond and make friends.

If you search this forum you will find other threads on this topic. Not every freshman wants to live in East and those who live in other dorms are usually happy with their experiences. Is there some reason you’re thinking about switching?

Just curious, XtremePower, have you actually lived in East?

I lived in South (Simmons) last year and I loved it. I made so many great friends on my floor and everyone got along. The floor was always pretty quiet so studying in my dorm room was possible. People were considerate, even if intoxicated, and I never had to deal with drunk people wreaking havoc or causing any disturbances like I’ve heard has happened in East. I’ll be living in Simmons again this year and I strongly recommend it.

Stay in East. I lived in East freshman year, then in West for sophomore year. East is the best place to meet new people and establish your friend group. People in east are generally more outgoing, and everyone is in the same place socially as freshmen. West is great, but people typically are sophomores and juniors, and many already have friend groups established. Either way you’ll be fine, but i would recommend East.
