best private certified?

I’m actually surprised some of you are saying Bromley is better than IT. Illini Tower is MUCH better. IT has more amenities, is closer to the quad, AND has better food. Most of all, the students at IT are awesome. Ask around on campus and I’m sure you’ll hear more of what I’m saying.

IT is like a block closer to the quad - that’s hardly a reason that IT is better than Bromley.

If I were you, I would stay in Busey-Evans and try to switch into another university dorm.

@Finley
I disagree,being a block closer from the quad is a signficant advantage, especially if you need to go back to your room between classes.

In general, I dont think food in either the dorms/PCH are good. But Presby is a really nice PCH, it has on site laundry, it’s the newest on campus and people who live there are really nice and friendly :)

Okay, I am going to be a Junior this fall with many friends in the different PH locations.

I’ve never eaten at those places, so I can’t comment on that. However, everyone I know who lives at IT (about 5 people coming from different floors) say that IT is pure crap. No one ever go to the lounge/lobby or even the hallways. It’s very hard to meet your floor mates or basically anyone there.

I’ve heard a ton of good things about bromley, not to mention it’s absolutely amazing to live inside.

I’ve also heard good things about presb, but I’ve heard somewhat bad things about sherman. I forget if Allen is private, but for the record, I’ve heard decent things about Allen as well.

My opinion, however, is that in order to find a more social dorm, you are probably going to have to get out of the PH. While some of them are indeed more social than others, none of them can really compare with places like the six pack or even par/far. Though it won’t be a problem at all to live at one of the nicer private dorms and simply go to the other dorms for the social stuff. People do it all the time.

I think IT has terrible food too, just for thought.

I will recommend Presby. My D toured Bromley (where I lived a long time ago, LOL) and Presby and she decided on Presby this fall. It is gorgeous suite-style living in an ideal location. Its NOT religiously-affiliated, btw and they still have space for fall. Price is about $2k more than regular dorms. And worth it. Check it out

One more plug about Presby- there is a free washer & dryer in every suite! What more could a college kid want? LOL
