Best Regular Admission w/Access to Music Resources

If you want a top tier education, but you anticipate still playing in a band professionally and want access to the best teaching and recording resources--- what colleges make sense? Thinking of UMich, Johns Hopkins, USC, NYU, Oberlin, any others? Not wanting to major in music, but can't give it up either and want to continue to grow artistically as well as have an employable degree. Too much to ask?

sorry posted in wrong forum, but will gladly accept suggestions from Vandy fans, as it is in Nashville, you all probably have some thoughts, TIA.

well, vandy does have a full-time music school…

anyway, i’m not sure how they work, but there’s always eastman at rochester and i believe some people also take classes at both penn and the curtis institute (kit armstrong being a famous example that comes to mind).

oh, here’s kit armstrong if anyone was curious:

NYC, LA, and Nashville are the three main music cities in this country (at least from an industry standpoint), so you have some options. At that point, I’d be deciding based on other factors.
