Best School for Gays ?

so is boarding school equivalent to a high school other than you live there??

do they even have boarding schools in CA cuz ive never heard of any

yep. major ones i know are thacher school and cate school

thats kinda cool. so is it better than the regular traditional school
whats diff about it

hmm its a world class education, most teachers have phd's or advance degrees. you live at school, which may sound bad, but you get lots of freedom and there are soooooooooooooo many opportunites like clubs, sports, exchange programs, music lessons, etc. smart ppl all around you, great college matriculation, and most likely boarding school prepares you so you can get great SAT scores, also easier transition to college cause boarding school is like a mini-college, education wise and where you live.

thats so cool i kinda wish i went to one now haha
and i bet you have cute uniforms

im thinking harry potter

hmm no. most boarding schools dont have uniforms but exeter has one. tie and dress pants i think? it's formal.

im not into uniforms unless they're cute. this is what i think is cute : http://dailytarheelfashion.files.wordpress.com/2007/10/serena.jpg

thats pretty much what i like

psst that's my girlfriend in those pictures =p

How did this turn into posting gossip girl pictures :P
Exeter's very open. The GSA looks fun even though I haven't joined... we have a few faculty who are gay too. And btw Senay we don't have uniforms, but rather dresscode, which is pretty much just no athletic wear for girls and a tie/turtleneck for guys.

UCI...

sounds like Arcadia High School. :P

Check this resource out for BEST LGBT Colleges.. it's free and any college can participate.. plus if your college has not participated there is no reason not since it is FREE and a credible research tool. Spread the word ... it called the LGBT-Friendly Campus Climate Index at LGBT-Friendly Campus Climate Index - National Assessment Tool.

yeaa but i do think those uniforms are cute

Unfortunately, a very useful thread about schools that are welcoming to LGBT students and LGBT parents has been overrun by a fashion thread. If you would like to discuss prep school fashions, it would be polite to start a new thread. :)

My tour guide based his decision on what school he felt(being gay) was the most open. He chose a top tier school over Exeter. He said that Exeter and Andover are completely different in that regard... He would pick Andover over Exeter if you asked him.

Italian border, mind telling us which school he picked over E/A? I am sure gay students will find that information very useful. Particularly when deciding between equally good top tier schools. Thanks.

BUMMMP ... this is a good thread...
