I decided that i wanted to follow my dads footsteps and major in information technology. I love computers, working with people, and it pays well so thats a plus. I perferebly want a school in NY but im open to other schools outside of NY if it is worth it. So far the schools I have is Baruch college in manhattan and my community college is letting me apply to 4 schools so far i have: Suny binghampton and Suny Ferdonia. Out of the three schools which one is best to go in your opinion and if there is any other college with a reasonable tuiton let me know please

Also any books that are good to read before i start my semester in this major so I can get a better understanding would be greatly appreciated

CS Major at Binghamton here: would highly suggest binghamton if you have the requisite stats for it. Lots of connections, well respected in NYC - especially the finance industry.

Of the SUNYs, Stony Brook probably has the best reputation for CS.

Guys, I think that he’s looking for IT, not CS, but I’m not 100% sure. By “MIT,” he might have meant “MIS”, or perhaps Management/IT?

Management information technology…at the moment im majoring in business admin and plan on knowing the business side of information technology which is less technical than a computer science major and being a programmer.

Just add the CS courses in operating systems, networks, databases, and security to your business type courses.
