Best school for mechanical engineering?

I am a senior in high school and my goal is to be an automotive engineer. I need a bachelors degree in mechanical engineer however so out of these schools I've gotten accepted to which one has the best mechanical engineering program?
Cal State Long Beach
Cal State Northridge
Cal State Fullerton
Cal Poly Pomona
UC Merced
UC Santa Barbara
UC Riverside
UC Santa Cruz
Whittier College

UC = Santa Barbara
CSU = Poly

The auto industry (Detroit area) is staffed (stuffed :)) with Big 10 graduates mostly U Michigan, Purdue, Ohio State, and the like. There’s a few smaller LAC style schools that also feed Detroit (Kettering, Rose-Hulman, Lawrence…).

Fortunately there’s lots of engineering in the West Coast by Japanese and European automakers mostly in LA area (i.e. Honda). Looking4ward’s right on the money for both UCSB and Cal Poly.

It will be very important to maintain awesomeness GPA, try your best for internships with the industry or with direct suppliers, and overall be a bit of a gearhead. Also, to pick a specialty within ME that reflects what they’re using in terms of solid modeling software, computational methods, and the like.
