Best Cal State for Mechanical Engineering?

I'm trying to figure out which Cal State I should transfer to for ME. A list of rankings would be of great help! Thanks!

Cal Poly SLO

Cal Poly Pomona

San Jose State

I am interested in the Graduate programs for Cal State Mechanical Engineering. I attended UCLA for Mechanical Engineering Undergrad and received a mediocre GPA of 3.0. I was wondering if employers would care more about a high GPS in a MSME from a Cal State over a mediocre gpa for a BSME from a UC.

naixn92, thank you for your reply.

Where did you get your info from? Can anybody expand on these rankings and state your sources?

Basically, I’m struggling between Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State Long Beach and LA…

no problem elementX. I got this ranking by talking to people on CC, the USNWR rankings and by visiting schools (personal experience).

Cal Poly SLO is considered as the best CSU, and it excels in engineering majors (all majors at Cal Poly SLO are impacted). Cal Poly Pomona is mainly known for its Arch, Civil & Mechanical major (all impacted). Plus, both schools have lots of funding for their engineering departments. SJSU is well… not as good, but still good. I was a little disappointed when I visited the Engineering building and talked to the faculty.

I am (probably) going to attend Cal Poly Pomona because it is a great school for my major (civil), i love the campus, the hands-on, and because I got rejected from Cal Poly SLO…

CSULB is a great school, but because of budget cuts and overcrowding, its way too hard to get the classes you need to get your degree, compared to CPP. CSULA just doesn’t have the prestige… I don’t know much about this school but all I hear is that it’s really a bad school… but I might be wrong.

Thanks again naixn92.

I really like CPP as well but I’m not sure what the consequences (if any) are of attending CPP with an impacted major such as ME? Does this mean it will be difficult to get classes? Increased or decreased class sizes?

Thanks again!

Help! I’m looking for the whole package…and Sac seems to have it on paper, but…

I’m interested in possibly Mech. Engineering, possibly Kinesiology for Phys.T., club volleyball, stuff to do, etc. I am surprised that Sac State is never mentioned or it seems to get sucky reviews on this site for Eng. My choices are…Sac State, SJSU, Sonoma, CPP, Fresno and waitlisted at CSULB. CPP obviously has no vb.(Male)

@CSUConfusion

Come to Cal Poly Pomona… you know you want to =-)
