I am a soprano. I don’t want to go to a conservatory undergrad. I want to get the best music education and I am to go to a top graduate program. I am choosing between Vanderbilt, University of Miami, Boston University and Ithaca. I hear the best things to look for are a good voice teacher, and a lot of performance opportunities. Please help!
I have gotten into all 4, its just a matter of choosing.
We can not make this choice for you. If you have been accepted to all four programs you should visit the schools.
Schedule lessons with faculty members and try to sit in on studio classes. Attend an opera or student showcase if possible so that you can get a feel for how things run. Performance opportunities vary widely at schools, even among the ones you have listed, and it’s also a good thing to know that you can make your own opps for those too! Good luck where ever you end up- please let us know so that I can post it on the final decisions thread!
If you would like your acceptances listed there, please do go to that thread and post them and I will include them in the main list.
