Anyone know which schools other than Syracuse, and Boston U?

Syracuse university
Emerson College
Northwestern university
Boston University
UTexas-Austin
U of missouri-Columbia

pateta, Thank you. Emerson would come in too expensive to bother applying. I am looking for good schools that are less competitive than most of the schools that you listed. Interested in the east, south and midwest. Do you know the stats needed for the School of Communications at U of Mo., and is it mostly known for journalism only?

I hope this helps.

Very good place to start. Thank you very much.

Take a look at Ithaca College in upstate NY

orchestramom, Ithaca is on the list! It is a very good fit. Thanks.

I am not sure of the cost, but I think it is cheaper than most private collleges. Hofstra, on long island has an amazing communications program. The tv and radio stations on campus are the real deal..I was overwhelmed by them. The best part - phenomenal internships in manhattan that is only a half hour train ride away from campus.

sunshadow, you are right. The school is on our radar screen.

Elon has an outstanding communications program, and even some kind of comm. honors/fellowship thing

laxguy, Thank you. I actually have Elon on our list. The only thing that I don't care for, is that you need a car, and that it is rural. It sounds like a great school, and we are looking forward to visiting sometime in the future. It really sounds like Elon would be a good fit.

This is really helping. Please don't hesitate to suggest more schools.

Ithaca is very expensive...

Re: Ithaca- My older son applied there last year. It was his second choice school. Their financial aid package made the school affordable for our family. They meet on average, 89% of financial need, and 65% of that is grant money. We found their package to be fair, but we are paying several thousand less each year at his OOS public school.
