Hi I was wondering what schools are thought to be best in the Fairfield County area or anywhere 20 minutes within. I live in Greenwich and am in 9th grade, so it would be appreciated if anyone could tell me what the best school you guys think is around the area.

P.S. I'm a boy, so I definitely want an opinion on Brunswick.

Former Fairfield County resident here. Brunswick is well thought of -- pretty sports oriented, and fairly intense. Rye Country Day School is also highly regarded -- just over the border from Greenwich. Other choices are Greens Farms Academy (Westport), St. Luke's (New Canaan), King Low Heywood Thomas (Stamford) and Fairfield Prep. You'd have to do some research to compare stats, but all are quite good.

I think your issue is going to be that you are already in 9th grade. None of those schools take many 10th graders, it is not a commmon entry point. Some don't accept any at all. I heard that GFA took 2 new 10th graders last year, so at least they will consider it. You can see their commmon entry points on their websites, that might be helpful.

But, with the possible exception of Fairfield Prep, they do take some 10th graders. S attended New Canaan Country School (which goes through 9th grade), and not everyone from his class went to boarding school -- meaning kids from his class went to all these schools.

MDog -- suggest you start researching the various schools ASAP. You'll need to get their info/applications, line up visits & interviews, take the SSAT, etc, etc. You're right -- you do need to find out more.
