So like if you guys are like me and love Andover, lets talk about the coolest things at Andover and like if anyone who goes their wants to give some good advice about Andover , ie like best worst dorms/ best teachers/cool ec's and like other stuff ... :D Go Big Blue !

The cafeteria = amazing!

The academics, and the athletics are awesome/

Also the laid back feeling, and wonderful clubs are AMAZING !

I agree with you guys , like at exeter i hear everybody is like all stressed where as like at Andover most of the kids are like stressed but like happy haha yeah i hope i get in :D

Hey sandkm is andover ur first choice ?

Andover is the greatest. My only advice is to come here with an open mind- try to be friends with everyone, learn as much about them as you can. That’s really what coming here is for: being with hundreds of different, unique people. Take advantage of it.

Yeah thats exactly what im gonna do if I get accepted ! Fingers Crossed huh =D … Are you currently attending overandover ?

Yes it is. Is it yours?

Hellz Yeah but it’s like my only choice so yeah I really hope I get in …, What grade are you applying for ?

Buump…dchar

Swissbrit, yes this is my first year here. So feel free to ask questions!

I go to Andover too. Overandover, I don’t believe we’ve met. PM me?

okay so like overandover, since im not accepted to andover like I don’t want to get my hopes up but is the course load really that much ? what is the best dorms and why ? where on campus do you go to hang out ? and do you have any free time to yourself just to like relax and let off some steam ?

Sorry for asking a lot of questions but like Andover to me is like my DREAM SCHOOl so I just want to know the more in depth details about it…
Anyways thanks a lot man

Ohh TTC I am proud to say that I am a fellow English Man haha lol I read a lot of your previous posts and you look like you know a lot from an international point of view so like are there any other british kids at Andover ? and how do international students mix with the rest of the students ?

There is actually a good number of British kids here - definitely not as many as kids from, say, China and Korea, but you can find them. I’m one of three from my old school in England, I know two girls from one of my old school’s rival schools, and there’s the odd smattering here and there as well. Funnily enough, I only know one Brit here with a British accent - the rest of us came from American international schools in England. We’re not under-represented, but definitely not over-represented either.

International students mix in just fine because there are so many of us. I can’t speak from the perspective of those who, say, speak English as a second language, but from what I can see, they’re completely integrated. My roommate is from Russia and a kid next door to me is from Hong Kong, so there are plenty of international students here. There’s really no distinction between international kids and domestics.

Ohh cool man I mean I’m happy to hear that there are a few British kids at Andover ,speaking of accents lol yeah british accents ,some people have them some don’t .I don’t really have a strong one but you can still tell that I am from England. Did you go to ACS Cobham ? It’s a really nice school. My grand-parents live near there it’s a really nice school .

Thanks for your insight man .

Haha, nope, not ACS Cobham. Yes, this is coming from someone who competed against them in sports, but they’re kind of a joke among the international schools in the area because they have twice as many kids as any of the other international schools (minus ASL) in the area but still fail at sports and academics. Only 69% of their AP exams are passes. Anyway, that’s enough of my little shpiel. Long story short, they have awesome facilities but are pretty awful in most other ways.

Anyway.

Ohh haha yeah I do not know about their academics, I have just seen their campus and it looks quite nice . Wow I am suprised that only 69 % passed their AP’s , that is a bit pathetic for an international school . Hey what are some good dorms at Andover and is there wireless internet throughout the campus ?

Oh TTC, I just checked on ACS Cobham’s site and yes indeed you were right only 69% of students passed their AP exams . What I did see is that their average Student scored 34 points on the IB and 34 is a lot considering you need 37 to get into Oxford, 34 is not bad . So although their AP’s suck, their IB’s are rather good :D
