When is the best time in the coming months for a prospective student to visit stanford? Do they do over nights? Is it easy to find a student to take you around? And finally, do they have any prospective student weeks/weekends?

Thanks

Anytime: Stanford is gorgeous 365/365 days of the year...

visit in october.

Check the academic calendar. It's best not to come during breaks, holidays, or finals time. I also recommend you visit when the weather is especially good; more students will be out (sunbathing, playing sports, throwing frisbees, reading under trees, etc.), so you have more opportunities to interact with them.

^to add on that the weather is usually best early fall quarter and most of spring quarter. Winter will be significantly colder and wetter.

I just visited yesterday and it was awesome

Big Game Week is the week before Thanksgiving (November 17-22, I think). It will be a bit cold by then, but school spirit will be running especially high.

That said, I'd recommend visiting earlier in the fall. You'll get better weather, and students will be less busy as it will be earlier in the quarter. Fall quarter classes start September 22nd; I wouldn't visit before that.

^agree with slysi. Beginning of fall is a nice time to come by but don't come before because there won't be a lot of students. The beginning of spring right after spring break is a good time too.

Also, you should come when there are classes in session, so that you can check some of those out. I came on a Saturday and there wasn't much to see in the way of academics. ;)
