I recently found out that I got into Stanford. Don't get me wrong, I think Stanford is amazing, but I'm having a tough choice choosing a college.
I heard that Stanford's admit weekend at the end of April is great for helping people make this choice by showing the "culture" of the college, but I can't make it due to conflicts. Is it possible for me to visit some other time and stay with a current student? I'm thinking of going during spring break and staying with a friend I know there, and possibly sitting through a couple of classes. Would that be allowed?

auditing is definitely allowed --just make sure to check with the professor if it’s a small seminar class -if it’s a large lecture you don’t have to check in at all (though I would avoid going to those). I would also recommend that you don’t come during dead week/finals week because you won’t be able to get a feel for the campus. The school might be able to arrange an overnight stay for you if you can’t make admit weekend so def contact them to see if they can help you out. congrats! :)

You definitely should visit in some form or manner. If you can’t stay with your friend, shoot an email to John Friesman- he’s the director of Visitor Relations. But I also agree with @darling; don’t visit during dead week, ahaha. But yeah, visit and get a feel for the campus, especially if you’re having a tough time choosing!

By the way, congrats! :)
