Best TV size for college dormroom?

What's a good size for a TV in a dorm room? Is 19 inches too small or is it a good size.

Thanks in advance.

I think that’s a good size, but honestly the common thing is to go through the trouble of buying and moving in a TV and then never use it. I hardly knew anyone who used their TV enough to make it worth it.

I’m wondering the same thing. The TV in my bedroom is 32" and I’d rather not have to buy a new smaller one and just take the one I have. Is 32" too big? They don’t release housing decisions until the end of the month, so I don’t know how big my dorm will even be.

I have a relatively small room and I am bringing my 32" flat screen, so you’ll probably be fine.

Are TVs in dorm rooms common in America?

Sun: Not everyone has one, but I’d say the majority do.

I have a 22inch HD flatscreen. It’s extremely light so easy to move at end of year, and I think it’s perfect size (although I wouldn’t mind slightly bigger). I also use my Xbox 360 with it. I’d be hesitant to bring anything smaller personally, but must mention that only flat screens should be brought!

I would say a 19 or 22inch because that is really all you should need…you don’t need a giant tv…

24’’ lcd. I think 19’‘-26’’ is a good size

I think 19 or 22 inch would be good. I’m not planning on bringing a tv thought cuz my dorm has a tv lounge on every floor.

32" is the best size, and don’t be afraid of getting a 720p one. You won’t utilize 1080p unless you watch blu-rays, so it’s not even worth the extra price. a 32" 720p will cost about the same as a 24" 1080p.

I had a small room and a small TV…I couldn’t even find room in my dorm to put my tv. It ended up spending the whole semester under my bed.

I really don’t recommend bringing one. The people on my floor that had one just holed up in their room playing video games and watching tv.

I would just use your laptop! You save a little money, and honestly most people who I know who brought tvs to college ended up using their laptops anyway.

I think a 20" TV is just fine for school.

I would dish it out and go for a 42 inch, 32 inch AT LEAST. Any smaller and the picture is really hard to see.

I’m bringing my 32" hdtv. do it. everyone will love your room

a friend on my floor had a 40 inch hdtv in his room, it was so badass haha.

thanks for the help

22" HDTV is probably the best. They are small and portable, good picture, and they can double as an additional monitor for your laptop if needed.

If you’re just gonna use the TV to watch tv shows or movies, then I can see why it doesn’t make sense to bring one since you can easily watch that stuff online.

But if you’re gonna be watching sports, then why not bring one? I’ve tried watching football and basketball games online (both for free and through paid subscriptions) and the quality kinda sucks.

I use a 25" as my TV and external monitor. Works great.
