This might have been asked before but I can't find the thread..
My dad wants to get me a 22" television for my room but I insist that is too big. I'm going to have to put in on a dresser so I'm afraid I won't have any more room.
A 15'' is like the size of my computer and I'm not sure how well you could see from far away on a tv that size...

So any suggestions? What size did you have?

I have a 21.5" lcd computer monitor. It’s going to double as a tv. Id suggest something like tyhat, since the resolution is higher than an lcd tv would be. It was about $150 when I got my hp laptop.

A 22" is not too big. I mean, look at one, for goodness sakes. It’s a very small TV. Unless your dorm room is a cardboard box, I can’t imagine a 22" being too big.

Anything in the 19"-25" range should do an average person just fine. Big enough to see, but not too expensive.

I have a 32in, which is as big as I would go. It fit in my room fine, but it just so happens the tv stand my parents bought me had wheels on it, so we could easily roll it out of the way if need be. That did necessitate purchasing long cords for it, though. It would also have fit on my dresser so long as that was all I wanted to put on it, our dressers are about 2x3.

Yeah, as has been said before, a 22" is nowhere near too big. A friend had a 22" last year and it was small to look at across the room.

My computer monitor was 22".

Even a 42" isn’t too big. I have a 42" and brought it to my dorm for the spring semester. Looked huge but it didn’t take up too much room or anything.

32" seems to be a popular size and is big enough to see and watch. I wouldn’t go any smaller.

First time I moved out I got a 27’', which was nice but it was hell to move-in. It was too big for me to even bring it back home so I just left it there. Keep in mind that you’ll have to travel with this TV at the beginning and end of every semester.

A tip: search Craigslist and yard sales. You really can find great deals :)

Ooook. Gotcha. So I purchased a 22" Vizeo. Yeah, I have to say my views on size was quite warped. What’s this about not being able to see from a slight angle? Uhhh…oh. I’ll have to test that out!
And would it be safe to leave it in the dorms over winter and such? Ehh, should I get lo jack or whatever that’s called?

I had (have) a 32", and loved it. It wasn’t much more expensive than the 22-26" ones I saw at Wal-Mart, and it was nice to actually be able to see everything. Mine was definitely the biggest of all of my friends’, which was actually a plus for me because it was a talking point, and a good way to watch movies with friends if we didn’t want to go out that night.
