Best UG for Grad, Chem or BioChem?

My daughter is about to graduate high school
She’s picking which college to go to
she’s convinced she’s going to graduate school after that.

University of Cincinnati vs Purdue

She personally likes Purdue
But I’ve heard they grade hard, so grades may suffer some…a major component of the grad school application
Also, there’s been some cost cutting due to the tuition freeze
Professors distracted by research, too busy for students, perhaps ?
A very good reputation, but \\\\hey grades matter more than that

University of Cincinnati:
Fwiw, accepted into the Honors program - can choose classes before the rest of the uni
Other little perks, better housing,etc,
Co-op is a big part of UC, I’ve heard
Dunno if this is a + or - for someone grad-school bound eventually

She’s young - very smart, 4.0 average, but she doesn’t think about any of this stuff, she just likes Purdue (I guess the tour was good or the school spirit or something), but she’ll take our advice, so I’m here to find out more.

suggest you repost on the Parent’s general forum.

fwiw: Purdue is much more recognized for Chem than is Cincy.

I would urge her to consider ChemE as well. It’s arguably a better degree/program than pure Chem.
