Does anybody know if History is a good choice for an undergradute who is hoping to go to law school? Should I have a minor in say buisness or accounting?

Law schools have ALL sorts of majors. I majored in Sociology & got good scholarships to UCDavis Law School. We had English, Political Science, Business, history & all kinds of majors in law school. They want you to have high GPA & high LSATs & good ECs to get into law school.

If you're thinking you may wish to go into business law, it may be good to major (or at least minor or take classes) in business. Several folks I've known have gotten MBAs to go with their law degrees--some highly driven folks got it at the same time they got their law degrees. I personally did not & have no regrets.

Public speaking, logical reasoning, research & writing well are very important qualities in the practice of law. There really is no "pre-law" curriculum per se (that I'm aware of). I had wanted to major in Community Service & Public Affairs, but my mom convinced me that Sociology was a more conventional choice, so that's the major I stuck with & it worked just fine.

The thing about a major is figuring out what you may wish to do with it if for whatever reason you DON'T get into or go to law school. What would I hav edone with my sociology major? What will a history major do with his/her degree?
