but does anyone have a list

California Institute of Technology

University of Michigan-Ann Arbor

Other good programs:
Brown University

Harvard University
Pennsylvania State University-University Park
Princeton University
University of Arizona
University of California-Los Angeles
University of Calfironia-San Diego
University of Chicago
University of Washington-Seattle
University of Wisconsin-Madison
Yale University

dude, ur from dubai, how did u get htis info?

and what about LACs

no UT-Austin? I'm pretty sure it already had a pretty strong program BEFORE it received a $250 million donation - all to the geology school - a few years ago to go world-class.

"dude, ur from dubai, how did u get htis info?" Yeah, weird huh?! Hehe!!! I actually wrote down a bunch of cool sounding schools without giving much thought to your request. Seriously, those universities all have excellent Earth Science/Geology programs. You must obviously sift through them to come up with a list that makes sense to you. And as JWT points out, UT-Austin is also excellent in those fields.

As far as LACs go, I would think the following would have decent Earth Science/Geology programs:

Amherst College
Carleton College
Davidson College
Harvey Mudd College (doesn't offer a major in Geology, but has plenty of offerings in Hydrology, Geochemistry and Geophysics.)
Middlebury College
Swarthmore College
Williams College

That's probably a good starting point. I will share more thoughts with you later.

oaky thanks. well im applying to amherst, middlebury, carleton, colgate, colby, hamilton, vanderbilt, UT, wisconsin ,and William and Mary

Davidson doesn't have a geology program.

To Alexandre's list of LACs, I would add Hamilton, Bryn Mawr, Franklin & Marshall, Pomona, and Bowdoin.

All of your colleges have great geology programs. UT is particularly strong in paleontology, and William & Mary's program has close ties with Marine Science.

also for earth science, college of the atlantic and connecticut college are well known for the strength of their departments.

Davidson doesn't have a geology program.

And neither does Swarthmore. In theory, a Swarthmore student might be able to major in geology at Bryn Mawr, which does have a good program, but the distance to Bryn Mawr is probably too great to make this approach practical. Haverford students can and do major in geology at Bryn Mawr though.
