Best Univerisites for Computer Science in Texas

Hey guys,
I've applied to four universities for computer science spring 2012,namely UT Austin,UT Dallas,Texas A&M,and Texas Tech, and I might apply to University of Houston later on.

Recently,I got acceptance from UT Dallas ,

Although I'm still waiting for the decision by UT Austin and TAMU and I don't know my chances but I've heard that they are the top schools in TX for CS major.

However, I want to know is UTD a good place for computer science? ? In terms of a good education,a good social life and environment, would it be a wise decision for me to join it?

I've surfed the internet and found from sources such as US NEWS,but I feel it would be better to get opinions from you,

thanks

UT Austin has the best computer science program in the state of Texas.

Hi ,thanks for the reply,
but I already know that  as I mentioned that I’ve already applied in UT Austin and TAMU, but I think my chances of getting into them are very slim,

so thats why I am asking how is University of Texas at Dallas for a BS in computer science?? and how is it in terms of reputation, student life, etc??

anybody?? :P

Well, what are your stats?

Have you visited the CS programs at these schools.

Can you afford these schools?

I would think that the CS programs at UT, TAMU and TT are all good.

*Anyhow ,my gpa is average,below 3 ,
*

oh…that’s a problem.

thank you for the reply,

As for my stats,

I have international credentials from foreign university. I had earned about 60 credits consisting mostly of all major classes related to computer science… and I’ve applied as a transfer to the universities (for spring 2012) I mentioned above. My cumulative gpa is 2.64.

Honestly ,I wasn’t sure if I’ll get accepted in any of the universities, but apparently I just got accepted in UT Dallas . I am still waiting for the decision by UT Austin…and TAMU…

I haven’t visited any of the schools ,and yeah I have the financial ability to afford any of these schools .

Why are you only looking in Texas?

Considering the Dallas-Ft Worth metroplex, UTD grads should have plenty job opportunities. Contact the CS department to see if they could give you any info about their co-op called the IPP.

Its mainly because most of my family lives in TX,and my parents also want me to study in TX.
