Can anyone tell me what's a good preference to put down so I have the best chance of getting a single? Thanks!

Your best bet to get a single is to request a single.

Are you asking what dorm you should choose?

Yes…as in West Campus houses vs. Residential colleges.

From your previous posts I see that you’re a transfer student for the Spring semester? My understanding is that they typically place transfer students together in suites. Since you’re going for the spring semester, the majority of the housing is already taken so your options will be limited. I’m not sure whether you have a better chance for a single at one dorm over another.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I was basically just wondering if there was a higher concentration of singles in the houses or the residential colleges, but it’s a pretty dumb and futile question at this point. Thanks for the reply though!

Also, for the suites, do you know if the individual rooms are always doubles if there are suites in which the individual rooms are singles? That would really be the ideal situation. Thanks!

I’m pretty sure there are suites where there are singles! I think a lot of the time it will be two doubles and a single, but it depends on the residence. I’m sure you’ve already seen the housing website, but if not, check out <a href=“Residential Life | Student & Campus Life | Cornell University”>Residential Life | Student & Campus Life | Cornell University; and you can look at panoramas of the different rooms.

All suites have singles. On west there are more singles in a suite than double.
