Best way to improve my scores in writing/reading?

Everyone has the potential to score 700+ in every section, including myself.

On the past SAT I took I scored:

570 R
590 W
800 M

From these statistics, I guess you could say I need help upping my scores in R and W. The problem I have though is that when it comes to W, I know all the rules and do fine on practice tests but I choke on the actual thing, and when it comes to the R section I continuously doubt myself.

Am I going for a 2400? No, I just want a 2100+ at least... Hopefully a 2200, which would look a lot better than a 1960 at the ivy leagues. I also received a 30 on my ACT, but I plan on improving that.

I want to increase my writing/reading average to at least a 680. I'm buying the blue book and I'm going to be studying for the SAT from September 11th to its test date on October 9th, because before September 11th I'll be studying for the ACT.

All help is appreciated :)

Buy a princeton review SAT prep book! For writing, use this prep book to master the art of getting a 12 on an essay. The rest of the writing section is really just memorization of rules and once you understand the basic rules of grammar, it’s impossible to get anything less than a 720. CR on the otherhand is about 600 points of Reading Comprehension which is just basic skills you’ve been mastering since kindergarten and then 200 points of vocabulary. I hate this part because you need to buy flashcards of words that may or may not even show up on the test -_-
