Nd sends their decisions snail mail, the Ivy's (I am familiar with) annouce weeks in advance the exact date and time to login and get your decision, UChicago gives no advance warning but sends an email that says decisions are now posted. When my daughter applied to schools, it was all snail mail. However, as my son has gone through the process this year, I can't decide which I think is the most "humane" method to deliver a decision. What do you think?

I don't know! All my letters have been through snail mail, except one. I felt like the on online was kind of anticlimatic. You logged on and it just said Congrats! =] I like getting it in the mail, it's more fun and I never get things in the mail anyway!

snail mail, with no hint on when they're coming

of course the second part is impossible when Im on CC as much as I am

I think, that for our student, snail mail was more exciting as well. Even tho the wait seemed endless at times, it was very exciting to receive the letter in the mail. E-mail seemed very impersonal and cold--I seemed to notice that the reaction was less than exciting.

Definitely the mail, though the envelope usually gives it away it's fun struggling to open the envelope with shaking hands. I have yet to be rejected (though definitely a couple to come) so I can't attest for those :( ... yet

i got my michigan acceptance letter by email (and later by mail).. and i though it ruined the surprise

but that is just me
one school called me and told me i was accepted
