Better to send SAT+SAT2, or ACT+Writing, or both?

First things first, the scores:

SAT: 2280 (710 M, 800 CR, 770 W)
Subject Tests: Chem: 800; US Hist:770; Math 2:800

ACT: 35 (35 E, 36 M, 34 R, 36 S)

Many of the schools I'm RD'ing to "strongly encourage" or even require applicants to send 2 SAT 2s. This would mean paying for a whole score report, which means that I just ought to send all of my SAT scores. However, I know that my ACT score is better than my SAT score, so what do?

I would definitely send just the ACT. For some reason top schools (and I’m gonna go ahead and assume you’re looking more at being a Princeton Tiger than an Auburn Tiger lol) put a really high emphasis on Math. A 35 ACT with a 36 math score make you look much better than a 2280 with a 710 in math. I believe the ACT+W is the equivalent of sending SAT II’s

I would send everything. You can send just act and sat II’s if you’d like (collegeboard does not require you to send everything together), but the extra SAT won’t hurt (most schools just take your highest scores, act or sat, and ignore the others).

Send your ACT with SAT2 for sure. Up to you if you want to include the sAT1 or not (unless the school requires all tests).
