BFA Acting Pre-Screen and Auditions. Class of 2022 - Sharing!

@blessedgirl3 Congratulations to your D on CCM BFA Acting! I’ve heard GREAT things about that school and program from someone who knows what they are talking about.

@frontrowmama can’t wait to find out the news.
Thank you

@MomofJ5 I think @dramamama2022 has it right. That is what I recall as well when we went to Syracuse in january.

@rutgersmom321 I was a walk-in for SUNY Purchase as well and received a call at about 1 something Friday afternoon! I’m astounded that they actually really seriously considered us walk-ins. Congrats to your S!

@Oaktree99 My cousin is graduating from Chapman this spring. She is a first gen student from central California. I have dinner with her about 3 times a year when I am in Orange County on business. I would say that she is very happy with her choice of Chapman (over Pepperdine and Oregon when she made the decision 4 years ago). It has been fun watching her explore the offerings at Chapman and find her interests. It was definitely a great choice for her.

@Oaktree99 We’ve already private messaged about this. I believe that, although kids that go to Chapman do seem very happy and my son is thrilled to be going there for Screen Acting, your son has other acceptances that are probably more desirable. I think others would agree if they knew all of your son’s options. Does your son have a strong desire to be in California?

@Oaktree99 @Twoboysandadog I am also very interested in any information you know about Chapman! Got accepted there and seems like an amazing school, but I don’t have much information about what the alumni do or how many opportunities they have after graduating/how much they prepare you for the professional world.

@frontrowmama Thank you! Thank you and congrats to you, @actingchops! =D>

My S is still waiting for Pace BFA Acting and BA Int’l Acting Ensemble AND New School. Does anyone know if all of their acceptances have been done?

My D says that there is talk in the Green Room about OU Drama acceptances…anybody receive one recently?

I am also interested in Chapman info.

What are the students like at Chapman? Do the kids get jobs quickly ? Can the kids travel overseas as part of their program?

Are any of these kids getting jobs quickly after graduation?! I only know about Screen Acting, but for that program Chapman does allow the kids to do a semester abroad and there are internship opportunities in Los Angeles. I’m assuming the same is true for theatre, but you would need to double-check.

@momto2artists . About CCM. Are most of the students attending from midwest or from all over? We attended an accepted students day a couple of weeks ago and overall were impressed. How does she find the calibre of her fellow acting students? My son liked the two classes he took as well.

Does anyone know of a Student or recent graduates of Pace’s BFA program (any of them ?) I know that with any of these schools, you get out what you put in. Pace wasn’t on our radar in the beginning but I’ve noticed that it’s pretty popular on the CC board. I did see 1 recent graduate in 2013 is a regular on an HBO series. Other than this, I’m really trying to find out more information. If you all know of any reviews by current or recent graduate students, I’d love to hear about it

Has anyone heard from Ball State about Acting? Also wondering about any priority hold movement at Texas State. We got a waitlist from BW and Emerson, acceptance to LIU, Belmont and JMU. The waiting is starting to get to us.

@TNTheatreDad D was on PH at TX State for MT. She got a message on Friday that she is on the “waitlist as an alternate” and she should have a better idea of status around April 2. The message came via Acceptd.

@TNTheatreDad My S got a call last Friday from Ball State letting him know he was on the waitlist prior to that we heard nothing. I do know Texas State was on spring break last week FWIW. I hear you on the waiting!

@actingdreams - My S did a master class at Pace in August. Grant, the acting professor that worked with the kids, was great! Very impressive. - While in NYC we saw the off-Broadway production of Sweeney Todd that is set in a pie shop. Off-Broadway location, but incredible cast! The actor who portrayed Toby was a recent Pace MT grad. – I am just wondering if MT overshadows the Acting program at Pace.

@momto2artists about CCM. To clarify my questions: we are from the east coast so didnt know much about it. But my son last summer did his own digging around and talked to people and said CCM looked like a great BFA program. He was VERY happy to get accepted & liked everything he saw on our visit, i did too. And Richard, the program director seems top notch… My asking about students from midwest was because my son wondered if only kids from there attended or if it drew nationally. Not a concern, simply a question… dont want to offend anyone!! He is excited about CCM. Has had a few other very acceptances at excelkent schools but i think he is leaning toward CCM.
