My S received an email a couple weeks ago that said “still in consideration”. Does that mean a callback!?
I believe they email would specify if it was a callback as opposed to still in consideration
My S also got a UMinn callback, but his final high school show is that weekend. He loves their program and I hope missing the weekend doesn’t take him out of the running.
Has anyone heard of people ending up at MN callback weekend after being told they were waitlisted? My D is now in that boat… a little nerve-wracking!
@Naevia - my S was looking at a similar conflict. Deb Pearson made it clear that video submissions are accepted. Have your son send a note or call her. She’ll send him the guidelines. I’m pretty sure it’s the 3 monologues. Maybe 16 bars of a song also. Others here on CC will confirm that their kid/kids they know have been accepted on the videos (when they couldn’t make the callback wknd.) BAL to your son!
@Naevia No worries. UMinn/Guthrie has accepted kids via video submission before. They understand that these kids are in a constant rotation of shows. BAL to your S!
@Naevia Congrats to your S on the callback! I definitely remember reading about kids getting in off of video submissions (back when I was a stalker on CC ) The email your S received listed the guidelines for video submissions. Last year Guthrie and Rutgers had the same callback weekend - what a crazy time that must have been for some kids (and parents).
D got a callback for Guthrie, too (YAY!); looking at flights now. Like @Atreuh said, Guthrie accepted a video callback from D1 - she was in a show callback weekend and could not attend.

It may be easier in Minnesota than it was in Chicago! I’m still on the fence about whether to send her by herself. Waiting to see if one other girl from our area is attending. I’d feel better if she had someone to travel with.
@artskids - is your D traveling from Chicago to MSP? If so - send me a PM and I’ll let you know what flights my kid is taking.
No - CLE to MSP. Trying for a direct but it’s nearly impossible given the timing.
