BFA Acting Pre-Screen and Auditions. Class of 2022 - Sharing!

@FourStars - good sign on Ithaca. If the portal still shows the checklist with all items in, that is very positive! It’s when the portal goes grey - you know.

seems like a lot of been notified @FourStars, with both rejections and acceptances. Portal change (being disabled) has been the sign prior to the letter of rejection for most. That must be a frustrating situation to be in! I would want to call, but probably shouldn’t! I think it’s a good sign.

Can checking the portal too often cause it to CRASH??? I know you are are laughing right???

Ok @FourStars - every time I send good vibes your D’s way, good things happen. So here are my strongest and most sincere vibes sent her way!! :x

@FourStars THAT is funny. Fingers crossed!!!

Gotta keep a sense of humor if at all possible.

I told D that obsessive portal checking should be elevated to an Olympic sport.

No from U Mich for us also. Too far anyway

@artskids - and anyone else whose kid was at Guthrie last weekend - when did they say the phone calls would be going out? My S thought they said it would be yesterday. Seemed kind of too soon (IMHO).

D says March 5. She is clearly not obsessively checking HER portals because she had to go in and click off on something for the university (not the program) before her application was complete. It is very confusing when they do all the application materials through Acceptd. She got an email while she was out there from Joe reminding anyone with an incomplete file to CHECK THEIR PORTALS. Sounds like me. She missed out on Elon because she didn’t upload her artistic statement and didn’t realize it was missing. Double GRRRRRRRRR since she spent hours on that prescreen. Rant over. SO March 5

Yes! Just got a message on Acceptd that the Minnesota calls would go out March 5th. Better than March 15th (DePaul). If only there were some snow to shovel… :))

@fourstars We are in the same position with Ithaca as you. Portal still up but no letter of rejection or acceptance. However, My D did get her UM rejection today. It was a long shot and we are in state. On to the next school.

6 days isn’t bad at all! I’m pulling for you @Atreuh @artskids and whomever else is going for Guthrie

does anyone know how many acting credits Elon BFA Acting majors take?

@bretzki5 My spreadsheet from last year says 68

I’m feeling stressed out just reading through this and my D is already in a program. Sheesh!! Anyway… we got a call from Guthrie (@Atreuh, @artskids, @FourStars, et al) on the Friday after callbacks last year. They also said it would be early the following week. Not to get hopes up, but it may be sooner based on past behavior. In the school’s defense, callbacks was a week later in 2017. Hope that helps. Good luck to everyone. Hang in there.

how to delete a mistaken post, not just revise? anyone know?

So @FourStars… It sounds like our Ds met briefly at Guthrie Callback check-in. My D said to yours, I guess our moms have been exchanging messages on CC. Your D said (with rising panic in her voice)… My Mom is on College Confidential!!! Too funny…

@bretzki5, @marg928 - that looks consistent with info at this link. (wasn’t sure if I had this right at first because of the “theatre arts” heading, but going back again, this is where you end up by clicking at link called “Acting.” So apparently this is the name of the acting program?)…

@ThenSheSaidIt - hilarious!
