Bicycle?

Are bicycles necessary for transportation for first years at Dartmouth or at least makes life easier in general?

Bikes are certainly far from necessary. You can walk across the entire campus in around 15-20 minutes and will often have a much shorter walk to everything (unless you unfortunately end up in the river). However, bikes can be convenient if you have one.

S never rode a bike much growing up but bought a schwin at Wal-mart at the beginning of fall term and is making up for lost time. He stored it a few days ago and says he really misses it. During the year, he rode all over campus, town, and quite a bit on trails outside of town. Proved to be good transportation and exercise.

Thanks for the advice spunaugle and getalifemom(That’s a cool name!)!

Looks like I wouldn’t need to have a bike to the school.

Maybe I’ll get to see you at Dartmouth spunaugle? lol. :P
