Bicycles on campus

My son has been assigned to Trimble Hall this coming fall and is planning to bring his bike. Am I correct in reading that he will not be able to store his bike anywhere inside the dorm during inclement weather?

Unless there's space in his room, there's nowhere to put his bike. The first floor of Trimble is offices for the German Department, so he will have to climb at least a flight of stairs with it, anyway.

Though you don't really need a bike at Emory. The campus is small enough that almost nothing is outside of a 15 minute walk. Trimble is in the middle of everything, and he probably won't have to walk more than 5-8 minutes to class. Plus shuttles run everywhere on campus and are free. You rarely see people with bikes on campus.

the emory shuttle buses are really great. i was there for a few weeks during the summer and i never had to wait more than five minutes for a bus to pick me up. personally, i think the bike would be more trouble than it's worth.

...unless you're studying music and will be spending a lot of time at Burlington Road Building, a good 10 minute walk from Complex and 15-20 minutes from most of the other freshman dorms. :-)

Thank you all for your responses:) It looks like we won't be bringing the bike.
