Hi everyone,
I am applying RD to the Weinberg and Bienen dual degree program at Northwestern. The program at Northwestern is one of my top choices but I’m not sure if I will be able to afford it. I have a 4.0 Unweighted GPA, 35 ACT, 1550 SAT, and all 5s on my AP tests (except a 4 in AP Physics) so academically I think I’m qualified for admission if I get a recommendation from the music department. I am a very serious jazz pianist and composer, I’ve won awards at the national level and recorded an all-original studio album with some very well-known jazz musicians. I know that Bienen does some merit aid but I’m not sure how much. I don’t qualify for any financial aid and the most I could probably afford to pay for school is 30-40k a year.
So my question is, does Bienen give large merit scholarships to accomplished jazz musicians and if I get a music scholarship at another top school, will they make a counter offer?
