i'm interested in internint for PwC next summer and i was wondering what kind of work summer interns do. also, i'm assuming it's not as hard to get a big 4 internship compared to a summer analyst position at an investment bank.. but someone please shed some light on this. thanks!

Summer interns literally go out on audits, if you are going into audit as I assume. Its alot of the more tedious work, but it can still be fun to travel and such. Some places may have you stay locally, but other firms will fly you around. It varies place to place.

They do take alot of kids but it is still relatively hard. I would try to get in contact with a recruiter and chat with them a bit. Are you a junior? I think that is the easiest year to get one. Having a relationship with a recruiter is really important and will be your best asset.

Hope this helped a bit.

Thanks

i actually wouldn't want to do audits. i'm more interested in pursuing a career in consulting or investment banking when i graduate. thanks for the info though!

Then don't ask about Big Four internships because they mostly focus on accounting. Big four does have consulting positions but those are pretty selective as well. Don't get the wrong impression about Big Four, it is not easy at all to get into.

Yeah you are really talking about three different worlds. I-banking, accounting, and consulting are related about as much as a Tiger and your household kitten. You will be able to feel out which one you like over time and experience though. Good luck!
