If I get a, let's say (500 Math, 500 Verbal, 500 Writing=total: 1500) and then a (600 Math, 400 Verbal, 400 Writing=total:1400), will colleges look at this as my highest score being 1500 or the highest score being 1600 (600 Math, 500 Verbal, 500 Writing) by looking at the highest individual section score.

Most would look at 1600 because most colleges take the highest combined scores of each section. However, there are a few colleges that do not so you should definitely check college websites.

yeah, most take the highest score. some of my friends take advantage of that and try focusing on one subject everytime they take the test although I dont think its that efficient

hmm...i can't really find it on their websites, but do ivey league colleges look at each individual score, like Harvard, Princeton, Boston University (primarily)?

Actually, I believe they do.

Thank you God!!!!, but ofcourse, they want all your scores to be in the same range right, because it will look bad if you get an 800 on math and then the next time, get like a 700, right?

Well, they assert that they don't pay attention to that. But I think you should def try your best in every section. It never hurts to try.
