i just found out that i fergot to send my SAT scores to CMU...i just sent them - rush reports- so CMU will get my SAT scores thursday or friday- jan 5/6...do you think i will still be considered as an "applicant"? i can't believe i fergot

I'd call them asap, email them, do your best to make them understand that this was a horrible mistake and that you really like CMU.. i dunno, just talk to them and explain what happened and they might make an exception about it being late, particularly if you already have your app and everything else in.

I really think they'll be understanding about it.

You're absolutely fine. Many people forget this and don't send them in until the school notifies them a few weeks later. Also, it's spelled "forgot." ;)

EDIT: I don't think it's necessary to call them.

from what I have gotten through emails with other college admissions offices is that they don't really start on apps right away. Everyone has been very understanding if you have your main application into the college on time. Now I can't say this goes for all colleges but I have found this a few times.

I rush delivered late, I see no problem in your case mate. Just... give em a call just to be on the safe side, but I wouldnt worry if I were you.

I wouldn't worry at all, the thing about calling isn't that its necessary, but that it shows genuine interest in the school.. most people wouldn't call up about a last-minute safety.

Yargg's got it. What happened with me was I called to verify everything got in for the ED I deadline. And then.. they happened to call me back, it turned out they reviewed me, and I didn't make the cut for the major I wanted, but they knew I really wanted to get in, so they offered.. a 'lesser' major (still ED I), which I can switch into and get accepted. And well, Carnegie Mellon is that awesome of a school, so I accepted.

So... thats why I suggest calling, I mean, there is no harm in taking the time to ask if everything is in. I mean, don't bug em' to no end, but theres nothing wrong in politely asking if everything is in order.

i called them and they said it was okay. actually, they said that they're still letting freshmen applicants take the jan SAT- as long as they rush in those scores.

Hey Tooya, what school/major did you apply for and what school/major did they end up putting you in?

CS, and I found out from what they told me.. my SATs were considered on the low end (1870).... =/ I made it in IS, however.

Only q im answering though, :p Better if I dont mention it as much

Dont read too much into what I said. Mainly, if you care about getting into CMU, make sure it is known. I mean, don't harass them, but let it be known you really really want to get in. How you show this is your own decision.

wth?? how come they didnt do that to me?? T____T I loved the school too! (reapplying)

you'll be fine. They would never bother having to refund your fee over a late test score.
