1) Taking Spanish- I sucked at it, lowered my GPA. >< Should have taken ASL.

2) Not studying for the SAT. People out there, just because you take the SAT a second time DOES NOT MEAN YOU WILL AUTOMATICALLY GET A HIGHER SCORE. I learned this the hard way.:(

3)Taking all AP’s and honors instead of mixing it up with CP classes. I would have been less stressed, and probably could have gotten a higher GPA.

4) Bad study skills in 10th grade, then picked it back up in 11th.

All in all, I would have tried harder earlier, but with less rigorous courses. Doing well in a lot of AP classes isn’t impressive when you’re sacrificing your other subjects.

Taking Precalc during the summer. I took Calc AB my junior year, but I couldn’t fit Calc BC my senior year into my schedule. Ended up with a big online mess.

1) Go from doing five sports in middle school to none in hs. Before, my mom praised me for “focusing on my studies,” but now she also thinks it’s a shame.

2) Having an ugly “breakup” with my best friend junior year. Not only did it split us apart, it split our big group of friends apart. It’s still awkward to this day.

3) Being too egotistic to fix #2.

4) Not realizing how critical the PSAT was. It’s.kind.of.a.really.big.deal.

5) Fighting to get into AP/honors classes (there’s a selection process at my school). The stress and sleepless nights are not worth it, especially when the students who took almost all regulars are getting into the same top schools. In other words, at my school, 1 AP=8APs to colleges. booo.

6) Forgetting to enjoy high school. Now i’m trying to do everything in one year (go to a football game, a formal dance, etc) in what should’ve been done spread out over four years.

I seriously feel like my high school life was wasted.

All of freshman year. Grades were horrible but I’m lucky they don’t impact college decisions…much.

Sleeping in my Chem Honors class during 10th grade (it was my first class). My only 2 Cs…

89.7% in AP Bio and 89.89% in AP Calc AB in 1 semester of my junior year.
