Congratulations to Steelers Coach and "Princeton Dad" Bill Cowher in leading his team to the Superbowl !!

so who are they gonna play?

It's being decided right now!

ohh I thought it was earlier- but I hear my H yelling from the garage

Just talked to S the ultimate Steelers fan. Just graduated from CMU...a little bummed he isn't in DaBurg to celebrate.

I think Cowher has 3 daughters (no sons)...and the Princeton D is a basketball player there I believe.

He's a great and well-liked coach. Now if he can get them past Seattle...

Go Steelers!

The grocery this a.m. here in the Steel City was a sea of Black and Gold!

After a rough year teetering on the brink of bankrupcy, this is the shot in the arm the city needs.

Looks likely Seattle will be opponent.

I am pumped!

I'm no Steelers fan, but I certainly pulled for them to beat the Colts last Sunday and they were my pick for the AFC game today. I've got them picked in the Super Bowl, too. Let me be perfectly clear that I am a Titans fan through and through and cannot stand the Steelers, but I do see them going home from the big dance with a big trophy.

Coach Cowher's daughter Meagan is a standout player on the Princeton varsity basketball team. The Tigers have a 12-4 record. Like her Dad she is mentally tough but without the famous jaw. Her accomplishments are quite impressive. Take a look:

no offense- but Seattles first trip to the Superbowl * ever* and it is in Detroit?

and they wouldn't let Seattle bid because of * our* weather?

I think Detroit has a dome, don't they? I could be wrong, though.

p.s. Congratulations, emeraldkity4 ... I take it your a Seahawks fan?

I admit I am not a football fan
now if it was the Mariners going to the World Series I would be crying, but I am very happy for them & for my husband who is a big time football fan- but I just can't get into sports on tv except for the Olympics

Well, I'm sure your husband is very excited! I am a football fanatic. I've been trying to get into hockey, but it's just not happening. I think I can only truly love one sport with all my being. I live and breathe Titans, but they didn't give me much life this season. That's okay, I have faith ... I'm thinking Super Bowl 42 or 43! ;)

Only on CC would the great Bill Cowher be mentioned as a "Princeton Dad".......

Well, it's much better than what I usually call him. LOL!

lol
well it sounds like it will be a great game- with two teams who deserve to be there
a heck of a lot better than watching the Yankees in the World Series again anyway ;)

emraldkity,

Saying the same thing here in Pittsburgh about the Super Bowl being in Detroit. They do have a dome, but Detoit is still cold and dreary in Winter.

I was a long suffering Red Sox fan (since '67) who had a thrilling 2004.

A Steelers victory would make my decade, especially since I can't hold out much hope for the Pirates and the Penguins...

Mario put the Pens up for sale, but ...who cares? We have our Steelers! :) Now if only the Pirates can turn in a win once in awhile!

Seeing the Steelers in the Super Bowl is ALL we needed. Four more hours of having to endure the facial expressions and spitting of a classless coach ... what a pleasure.

I just hope Cowher's goons plays like they played for half a season and get blown away by Seattle. When things go downhill for the Steelers is to only time I enjoy watching THE JAW and his moronic antics.

Oh xiggi, did your team lose? Why the name calling?

Steelers don't just have ability. They have heart. They have family...that's how it is in Pittsburgh and other people just really don't understand how this town feels about their team. No one can deny the raw talent, from veterans like Bettis and Ward to near-rookies like Roethlisberger and Polamalu. And Cowher has been with the Steelers for 13 years, so he must be doing something right! That's how they got four super bowl victories and that's how they got to the super bowl from the wild card spot this year. (One for the Thumb!)

"Steelers don't just have ability. They have heart. They have family...that's how it is in Pittsburgh and other people just really don't understand how this town feels about their team."

Is this different from any other NFL city?

And by the way, how did your kind and gentle town feel about Maddox when he relieved your QB? How did you warm and cuddly town react to ten years of coaching ineptitude and a stubborn owner who refused to fire a coach who could not dream of getting another job in the NFL?

Every season delivers an aberration. This happens to be your year.
